IOWA Proves Just How Premier the BIG TEN is.

Or did they? The wrestling blogs and popular social media outlets don’t necessarily agree, well 1/2 of the commenters at least. Fans of teams outside of the “BIG” conference use stats and percentage of champions to prove their argument. BIG TEN fans reference dual meets like the one between IOWA vs Oklahoma St. this past weekend as their main talking point.

Oklahoma St. came into the contest undefeated, at home in Gallagher-Iba Arena and simply on 🔥! The Cowboys were ranked #2 behind (we all know who - State of PA 🦁’s). Anyway, very little went the way Legendary Head Coach John Smith and his team envisioned, “I wasn’t expecting that, that’s for damn sure”, said Smith. Iowa dominated, winning 7 of 10 bouts with and overall score of 22-9. In two of the bouts that IOWA lost, Okla. St. was heavily favored.

In closing, I believe two things can be right at the same time. Non-Big Ten teams do produce good teams and championship wrestlers consistently, however when it comes down to a dual-meet setting, perhaps the BIG TEN reigns supreme.
