2024 “MATNESS” Features: The Nuts and Bolts

Our lovely bracket competition has come a long way from our Mother’s basement, all the way to the mountaintops of Colorado. In this article, I want to paint a picture of what to expect for the 2024 NCAA Div. 1 National Wrestling Championships. This event continues to be our bread and butter with hopefully more tournaments to come.

2024 “MATNESS” Features:

• All (10) Championship Weight Brackets

  The main differentiator of our competition versus that “somewhat similar basketball one” is, If (1) bracket gets BUSTED, competitors have (9) other brackets to make up ground.

• PIG 🐷 has been added!

  We did not think our beloved PIG 🐷 Mascot would be added until 2025, but our AMAZING developers were able to fit “Floyd” into the Brackets! PIG 🐷 represents the WINNER of the pigtail or wrestle-in match. Hence, no points are awarded for picking the pigtail match, but PIG 🐷 can be picked to upset and score points in all other rounds.

• Every Wrestler’s Name, School, Record and Seed

  Our Brackets replicate the Official Brackets that wrestling fans are used to seeing

• * LIVE SCORING! *

  As wrestlers win their bouts LIVE on TV, they are immediately advance to the next round and scoring adjusts accordingly.

• Automatic LEADERBOARD updates

  Each Weight Class has its own dedicated leaderboard. All (10) Weight Class Leaderboards are accumulated to the Overall Leaderboard for each League.

• Potential Pts. Remaining

  This feature allows competitors to see the amount of points that are still available to win for themselves and their rivals.

• Visible Brackets of the Competition

  Speaking of rivals, (once the tournament has started) each competitor can view the bracket predictions of all members of their league.
